Lincocin is an antibiotic used to treat severe bacterial infections in people who cannot use penicillin antibiotics. It is particularly effective against Gram-positive bacteria and certain other organisms.

- Lincomycin is reserved for severe infections when penicillin cannot be used.
- It is an alternative for individuals allergic to penicillin or when bacteria have developed resistance.
- Side Effects: include diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and vaginal itching. Some serious side effects may include severe stomach pain, little or no urination, blisters or ulcers in the mouth, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), and low blood cell counts.
